(9/8/25) The Town's contractor will install temporary rubber speed cushions between Hilltop Drive and Page Road as an interim measure while the full design package is developed and bid for construction in 2026. The rubber cushions will be removed in the late fall to avoid impeding snow plow operations.
Overview
The Town is actively working with Hemlock Lane residents to address neighborhood traffic concerns. In 2024, Phase 1 interventions including striping and signage changes were implemented, but did not measurably reduce vehicle speeds or traffic volumes. Phase 2 interventions were reviewed at the May 7, 2025 Transportation Advisory Committee meeting, and received strong neighborhood support. These recommendations include: geometric changes to the Route 62/Hemlock Lane intersection, a mini-roundabout at the Hemlock Lane/Hilltop Drive intersection, and a series of 4 speed cushions (humps) between Hilltop Drive and Page Road.
