The Town's Traffic Rules and Regulations prohibit parking a vehicle on a public way or public property between the hours of 1 am and 6 am year round or when more than 2 inches of snow has accumulated on the streets. There is no municipal parking area available to park a private vehicle during these periods, so you must find your own location to leave your vehicle.

Mailboxes installed in the Town right of way are placed at the owner’s risk. Each mailbox installation should be sufficiently solid to withstand snow-clearing efforts by the Town. A large highway plow moves many tons of snow widening roadways. The rolling action of the snow will destroy or damage all but the strongest of mailboxes and posts. Residents may want to place a brace behind the box to break the force of the snow coming toward it. Place reflectors so the box and post can be seen under poor visibility conditions. It will be the responsibility of the property owner to clear snow around mailboxes to assure mail delivery by the U.S. Postal Service.
It is Town policy that mailboxes will not be repaired or replaced unless it is evident that the damage was caused by the plow blade and not the force of the snow. If a mailbox gets replaced, it will be with a standard mailbox and post only. If your mailbox shows obvious damage that was caused by contact with a plow blade, contact DPW via the Report a Problem webform or by phone at 781-275-7605. Should a repair be warranted, DPW staff will repair once conditions allow. During periods of active winter weather, it may take several weeks to begin addressing mailbox concerns.

Potholes within the public Town's right of way are repaired, in batches, after the weather has warmed up enough to allow for the repair. Please use the Report a Problem webform or call the DPW at 781-275-7605 with the location of the pothole.

Please report missing or damaged street signs to the DPW using the Report a Problem webform or by calling 781-275-7605. We will need the street name and at what intersection the sign is missing. Timing of replacement can vary significantly based on the time of year, for example, street signs reporting missing during the active winter snow season will be addressed sometime after the weather has broken.
