[ARCHIVED] Annual Notice of Bulky Item Fees

Notice of Public Works Trash & Recycling Fee and Scheduling Method Changes, Effective July 1, 2023.

White Goods, Electronics and Fee-based Bulky Waste Per the Town’s contract with Republic Services, fees for some bulk waste items and white goods will increase, effective July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024. These fees are a direct pass-through cost; residents pay for the pickup at the time service is scheduled. View the updated Bulky Item fee schedule here

Continuation of Fee-waiver Hardship Policy Last yearBedford Select Board approved the creation of a hardship fee-waiver policy. Bedford’s fee-waiver policy provides a safety net for residents experiencing financial or other hardships and ensures equitable access to recycling opportunities, regardless of ability to meet the rising costs of collection and disposal. For more information or to apply for a fee-waiver, please visit the Town Website

Recycling Center Access Public Works makes available both permanent and special event recycling opportunities, such as scrap metal drop-off, and seasonal special collection events, including e-waste and tire recycling, at no cost to residents. Residents may choose to participate at the Compost & Recycling Center as an alternative to fee-based curbside collection.

Effective, July 1, 2023. Republic Services will no longer manage Bedford's calls at their 1-800 number. Instead, residents should utilize the new Waste Wizard tool on the Trash & Recycling website. For assistance or technical issues, please contact Liz Antanavica, Trash & Recycling Administrator by phone or email. Residents are asked to discard or recycle any outdated communication referencing the call center.
