Bulky Item Scheduling Now Available on Town Website

The Department of Public Works is pleased to announce that Bulky Item Scheduling and other customer service functions are now available via the Waste Wizard tool, online at www.bedfordma.gov/recycling. This digital capacity will improve service and increase convenience, allowing bulky item scheduling on your schedule instead of only during business hours. Residents can access the tool 24/7, from any computer or mobile device.

Using the Waste Wizard tool, Public Works will now handle all customer service related functions for the curbside trash and recycling program. This includes bulky item scheduling, reports of missed collection and other service issues. Residents can also print or view the collection calendar, set up email or text reminders about trash day and search more than 700 common household items for proper disposal instructions.

Residents have consistently expressed dissatisfaction with the call center offered by the Town’s trash Contractor, Republic Services. In an effort to improve the overall resident experience, effective July 1, 2023, Republic Services will no longer handle these customer service functions at their 1-800 number. Instead, residents should utilize the digital tools on the Town website for curbside trash and recycling collection related customer service needs.

Residents who need assistance should contact Liz Antanavica, Trash Recycling Administrator at (781)275-7605 x4261 or email TrashRecycling@bedfordma.gov
