NAMI Central Middlesex, a local affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, serves those living with mental health conditions, their families, and their friends who live in and near Bedford. Below are three in-person and virtual courses offered to families, parents, caregivers, students, and school counselors in March. NAMI Central Middlesex courses are offered at no-cost.
- Family-to-Family course, for family/friends of individuals living with a mental health condition, starts in Boxborough March 20th. Topics include understanding the symptoms of mental illness, learning about treatments and therapies, practicing communication and problem-solving skills, creating a positive team approach, self-care, plus the invaluable opportunity of open conversation and mutual support. - Basics course, for parents/caregivers of children & adolescents showing signs of behavioral health concerns, will meet in Tewksbury starting March 11th. The Basics class also includes the topics above plus information about advocating for your child’s rights at school and in health care settings.
