The Town of Bedford has retained the services of PMA Consultants of Braintree, MA as its Owner’s Project Manager (OPM). The Town of Bedford, in accordance with M.G.L. c 7C, §§ 44-58, which governs public building Designer procurement requirements, requests sealed responses from qualified firms for services of a Designer related to the design, construction administration, and commissioning of a new Fire Station Headquarters. Designer services will commence immediately after contract award with construction anticipated to commence in early 2024 for a construction period of approximately 18 months.

Sealed responses clearly labeled “Town of Bedford, MA - Fire Station Project” are due no later than February 16, 2023 at 1:00pm and to be delivered to the Town of Bedford, Town Hall, Town Manager’s Office at 10 Mudge Way Bedford, MA 01730. If Town Hall is closed due to weather or other emergency, the deadline for receipt of responses will be extended to 11:00 a.m. on the next business day upon which Town Hall is open. Pursuant to M.G.L. c. 7C, §§ 44-58, the Town reserves the right to award one (1) Contract, if at all, to the most qualified responsive and responsible Responder who complies with the Response Submission Requirements in the RFQ. The award of any contract pursuant to this RFQ shall be subject to appropriation by Bedford Town Meeting. The Contract will be awarded, if at all, on a negotiated basis, (with a fee not to exceed $1,420,000) for the Design of Construction Documents, Construction Estimate, Bidding and Construction Administration, subject to negotiation and subject to all procedures outlined in the RFQ, pursuant to M.G.L. c. 7C, §§ 44-58 and all applicable regulations and guidelines. Funding for the project management and design of this project was appropriated at Annual Town Meeting, March 2022. The award of the Construction Administration portion of this contract is subject to appropriation for the construction of the Fire Station Headquarters by the Bedford Fall Town Meeting in November 2023.
The following is a tentative schedule of the selection process, subject to change at the Owner’s discretion.

February 10, 2023, Last day for questions from Respondents. 11:00 AM.
February 11, 2023, Last day for any addenda issued by the Town
February 16, 2023, Responses due no later than 1:00 PM. Snow date is February 17, 2023 at 11:00 AM.
Beginning Feb 20, 2023, Interview selected Respondents the week of February 20, 2023 and February 27, 2023.
March 13, 2023, Anticipated execution of contract by Select Board
