Inflammable Storage Permit Renewal

The Town Clerk's Office processes the annual renewal of inflammable storage permits. For first time applicants, please see the Fire Department's page.

All holders of licenses for the storage, manufacture, or sale of flammables or explosives are required by Massachusetts state law to annually renew their registration. Renewal materials are mailed by the Town Clerk's Office to permit holders mid-March. Owners or occupants of the permitted location are required to sign the renewal permit and return it to the Town Clerk's Office with a check for the $60 fee per permit. Once the signed permit and payment are received, the certificate of registration is mailed to the permitted address unless otherwise specified.

*Online payment is now available for the renewal of inflammable storage permits* After permit holders sign and return the renewal permit, they may pay the fee online instead of mailing a check if that is preferable. Please click here to visit our Unipay Online Payment Center. In the search field, enter "Bedford" and select "Town of Bedford - Clerk" from the options. "Inflammable Storage Permit Renewals" will be an option from the menu on the left side of the screen, you will be prompted to enter your information and payment, and will receive a confirmation when complete.

Once payment has been processed online, and the signed renewal permit is received back by the Town Clerk's Office, your new Certificate of Registration will be mailed to the permitted address unless otherwise specified.

Renewals must be completed by April 30th of each year. If you have any questions, you may call 781-275-0083 or email clerk@bedfordma.gov.
