The Central Middlesex Police Partnership (CMPP), composed of the same entities as the Jail Diversion Program, works to address opioid and other substance use issues through targeted and ongoing prevention, education, and intervention programming.
Through this programming, CMPP aims to:
- Reduce the number of opiate overdoses and substance misuse in our communities
- An outreach phone call and/or in-person visits to substance users and families after an overdose or incident involving substance use (through the Jail Diversion Program and a Recovery Coach)
- Offer assistance accessing all levels of treatment and family support
- Collaborate with local stakeholders to provide and supplement ongoing community and school substance use programming
- Community and school events dedicated to increasing awareness about substance misuse, and disseminating information about available resources and how to keep people safe
- Expand access to addiction treatment options and resources
- Reduce stigma associated with addiction
