Ad Hoc Willson Park Committee

Project News

(4/2/2026) Our survey has closed.  Thanks to all who took the survey; we received 469 responses.  The survey results will be discussed at the April 2 Committee meeting and are summarized in the 2026-04-02 meeting package (link below).

(2/13/2026) Take our Survey!  Bedford’s Ad-Hoc Willson Park Committee is inviting residents and community members to participate in a public survey regarding potential improvements to the Willson Park intersection, which is the confluence of North Road, Concord Road, and Great Road.  The Committee is evaluating a range of options to address roadway safety, pedestrian and bicycle accommodations, traffic flow, park character, tree preservation, cost, and other community priorities. Public input will play an important role in helping the Committee understand which factors matter most to residents as future improvements are considered. The survey asks participants to identify their top priorities, share safety perceptions, and provide feedback on what they value about the intersection today.

Other opportunities for comment include the public comment portion of their regular meetings (see the Board and Committee agenda center); submitting comments in writing to town staff which will then become part of their packets; and attending future public comment sessions as preliminary design options are developed.

Overview

The purpose of this ad hoc Committee is to review options that are feasible to improve safety and circulation in and around Willson Park. Consideration will be given to the original designs presented in the 2017 VHB Study (more information on The Great Road Master Plan is available here). Surveys, and public forum(s) will be part of the ad hoc Committee’s scope. At the conclusion of its work, the Committee and staff shall present recommendations to the Select Board.

Committee meetings are typically held on the first Thursday of the month.
